Databases are created by default in the directory where the Network Server was started up. Maybe it was a classpath conflict, because I specifyed more than once the path to get the derby.

I removed every call to -classpath, then I used it only in the activatable server setup, and it works: I believe that the server will need to have derby. This is actually what I’m trying to do now, but I’m experiencing a different error 08001 no suitablehaha. I didn’t understand what “maven” is, is a site? To make things simpler, Derby’s JAR files are bound together internally, using the Manifest mechanism, so drror you simply specify the full classpath to derbyrun.

You need to load the driver during application’s startup before connecting the DB. I need to say again that I don’t run any error 08001 no suitable server with “server start” command before I run my entire server.
